Conference 2011 - Home

 

The M4P Hub is proud to have held its first conference on market systems approaches in international development, which brought together senior personnel from leading donors, practitioners and researchers who are currently taking – or seeking to take - a market systems perspective. The conference took place in Brighton, UK, on 7-9th November 2011.

Over 170 participants attended and exchanged experiences on the challenges ahead. Participants were able to improve their understanding of current issues and ideas in market systems development, acquiring networks and contacts of likeminded practitioners.

For development agencies and the ‘field’ as a whole, the event stimulated further interest in and momentum towards markets systems approaches.
A combination of sessions on theoretical perspectives and experiences from M4P projects allowed participants to engage in the conference’s key thematic areas and share ideas on the challenges ahead for developing market systems.
